Data protection: safeguarding your personal data
Protecting your personal data matters to us. We treat your personal data as confidential and in accordance with statutory data protection provisions and with this privacy notice.
As a rule our website can be used without providing personal data. Where personal data (such as name, address or email address) is collected on our pages, this is always done on a voluntary basis as far as possible. Such data is not passed on to third parties without your express consent.
Please note that data transmission over the internet, for example when communicating by email, can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Personal data means individual details about the personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as legal name, address, telephone number and date of birth. Because such data enjoys particular protection, we collect it only to the extent technically necessary.
As we are required to do, we explain below what information we record during your visit to our website and how it is used. Our data protection practice complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG).
We collect, process and store your personal data solely in order to handle enquiries and, where applicable, to process orders and contracts. Your data is used for any further purpose only where you have previously given separate consent that specifies that purpose, for example to receive information about offers by newsletter.

- information about the data we hold about you and how it is processed,
- rectification of inaccurate personal data,
- erasure of the data we hold about you,

Where you have given us consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

How we use your data
Our site offers various functions whose use causes us to collect, process and store personal data. Below we explain what happens to that data:
Contact form
Data received through our contact form is used only to handle enquiries submitted through that form. Once the enquiry has been dealt with, the data collected is erased within six months.
Disclosure of data
We pass on only such data (for example name and address) as is necessary for us to fulfil our contractual obligations, as is necessary for third parties to ensure a smooth process, in particular the performance of a concluded contract, or where its storage is required on other legal grounds. Where you provide us with personal data, that data is used only for the stated purpose to which you agreed before entering it. We store your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose of collection or as prescribed by law.
No disclosure to third parties takes place other than for the stated purposes of contract and payment processing.
Statistical analysis of visits to this website
When this website or individual files on it are accessed, we collect, process and store the following data: IP address, the website from which the file was requested, the name of the file, the date and time of the request, the volume of data transferred and a message indicating whether the request succeeded (a web log).
We use this access data exclusively in non-personalised form, to keep improving our website and for statistical purposes.
External content
Our website uses active JavaScript content from external providers. When you access our website, those external providers may receive personal information about your visit. You can prevent this by installing a JavaScript blocker such as the browser plug-in NoScript (www.noscript.net) or by disabling JavaScript in your browser. This may limit the functionality of websites you visit.
Use of cookies
These web pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do no harm to your computer and contain no viruses. They serve to make our offering more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Cookies are small text files placed on your computer and stored by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are session cookies. They are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognise your browser on your next visit.
You can set your browser to notify you when cookies are set, to allow cookies only in individual cases, to refuse cookies in certain cases or generally, and to delete cookies automatically when the browser closes. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.
SSL encryption
For reasons of security, and to protect the transmission of confidential content such as the enquiries you send us as the site operator, this site uses SSL encryption. You can tell that a connection is encrypted because the browser address bar changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
While SSL encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Data security and data protection, communication by email
Your personal data is stored using every technical and organisational means available so that it is not accessible to third parties. We cannot guarantee complete data security for communication by email, so for information requiring a high degree of confidentiality we recommend the postal route.
Changes to this privacy notice
We reserve the right to amend this privacy notice so that it always reflects current legal requirements, or to implement changes to our services within it, for example when new services are introduced. The new privacy notice will then apply to your next visit.
Erasure and blocking of data
We follow the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore store your personal data only for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here, or for as long as the various retention periods laid down by law require. Once the purpose no longer applies or those periods expire, the data concerned is routinely blocked or erased in accordance with the statutory provisions.
Withdrawing consent, requesting information and changes
Under the German Federal Data Protection Act you have a right to free information about the data stored about you and, where applicable, a right to have that data rectified, blocked or erased. Your data will then be erased unless statutory provisions prevent this. You may withdraw at any time any permission you have given us to use your personal data. Requests for information, erasure or rectification of your data, and any suggestions, can be sent at any time to the following address:

Which of your data do we process, and for what purposes?
We process the data you have sent us in connection with your application in order to assess your suitability for the position, or where applicable for other vacancies within our companies, and to carry out the application procedure.
On what legal basis?
The legal basis for processing your personal data in this application procedure is primarily Section 26 BDSG. Under that provision, processing is permitted for data that is necessary in connection with the decision on entering into an employment relationship.
Should the data be required for legal proceedings after the application procedure has ended, processing may take place on the conditions of Article 6 GDPR, in particular in pursuit of legitimate interests under Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our interest in that case lies in asserting or defending claims.
How long is the data stored?
Where an application is unsuccessful, applicant data is erased after six months.
If you have consented to your personal data being stored further, we will transfer it to our applicant pool, where it is erased after two years.
If you are offered a position in the course of the application procedure, the data is transferred from the applicant system into our human resources information system.
To which recipients is the data disclosed?
Once your application arrives, your applicant data is reviewed by the human resources department. Suitable applications are then forwarded internally to the managers responsible for the vacancy in question, and the next steps are agreed. As a rule, only those people within the company who need it for the proper conduct of our application procedure have access to your data.
Where is the data processed?
The data is processed exclusively in data centres within the Federal Republic of Germany.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the right to information about the personal data we process concerning you.
Where a request for information is not made in writing, we ask for your understanding that we may require evidence showing that you are the person you claim to be.
