Security in refugee accommodation: CIBORIUS ensures a pleasant living environment throughout Germany

CIBORIUS ensures safety and a good atmosphere in initial reception facilities for refugees throughout Germany – in initial reception centers, initial accommodation centers, shared accommodation centers and initial reception centers in the federal states. From years of experience, we know about the special atmosphere, potential tensions and challenges in the accommodation and help to make life as pleasant as possible for all residents. People from all over the world live here, different cultures come together – often for the first time – all united by the hope of a better life and uncertainty at the same time. Residents are often forced to deal with themselves.

But CIBORIUS starts early enough to ensure that everyone involved feels comfortable: with a proven all-round service that ensures de-escalation and a good atmosphere. Because when we manage refugee and asylum accommodation, we think holistically – with a structured leisure program that takes ethnicities, ages and needs into account.

We have had excellent experience with our concepts since 2014. For each accommodation, we work with our customers to create a concept tailored to their needs. Children and young people in particular receive tailor-made support – from homework help to childcare. Thanks to our sister companies CIBORIUS Facility Service GmbH and DASM German Academy for Safety and Management Training GmbH ensure orderly cooperation. DASM is our own training and further education academy. Our employees undergo special training and courses tailored to their work in refugee shelters.

In this way, we guarantee that every employee who is deployed on site learns intercultural skills and can act in a de-escalating manner if necessary. And for CIBORIUS, safety also means taking care of the residents’ organizational and social needs. Since 2015, we have been managing large needs-oriented initial reception centers (BEA) throughout Germany with over 750 employees in social, security and cleaning services. We benefit from our many years of experience on a daily basis, enabling us to recognize emerging problems at an early stage and intervene proactively. It also helps that our employees speak the residents’ respective native languages. Our canteen kitchens provide partial or full catering as required – naturally in a culturally sensitive manner.

Every accommodation is different – from the structure of the property to its residents. CIBORIUS creates tailor-made concepts with the primary goal of social participation and a good atmosphere. If it makes sense, we create places where people in need of protection can live in dignity – by renting, leasing or buying. We can include typical, temporary initial reception facilities of various sizes as well as shared accommodation, first homes, state-specific initial reception facilities and much more.

The total number of people that the CIBORIUS Group has looked after across Germany is around 10,000 in various facilities. In addition to specially developed software for the effective and systematic implementation of neighborhood management, accommodation, day-to-day support, language mediation and all security services, our subsidiary CIBORIUS Facility provides a large part of the day-to-day support.

New challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic

Now and in the future, the pandemic requires special measures for almost all areas of our lives. That is why we provide training and protective measures to ensure that our employees are professionally and technically up to date and can implement hygiene measures and regulations consistently and comprehensibly and instruct residents – this also includes contactless fever measurement at a distance.
