CIBORIUS – Commitment to safe and responsible artificial intelligence.

The CIBORIUS Group as a modern and sustainable company, focuses on high-quality security and services supported and realised through the use of innovative, robotic and AI technology. We therefore welcome the initiative of the European Parliament, Rules for the safe and transparent use of artificial intelligence (AI) negotiate. These regulations are an important step in ensuring that AI is used responsibly in our industry and ensures the safety of people.

Focus on trustworthy AI

Safety is our top priority and we are pleased that the proposed regulations aim to encourage the adoption of human-centred and trustworthy AI. The risk-based approach, which holds providers and users of AI systems accountable, ensures that potential risks are appropriately assessed and mitigated. This is particularly important for AI systems that are used in safety-critical areas.

Protection of security and fundamental rights

An important protective instrument is the prohibition of AI practices that pose an unacceptable risk to human safety. This ensures that AI systems used for social scoring or discriminatory applications are not tolerated and that people’s safety and fundamental rights are protected. The expansion of the list of prohibited AI practices strengthens the protection of people in security-relevant situations, such as real-time biometric remote recognition systems, predictive policing systems and systems for recognising emotions. These measures protect the integrity and privacy of individuals and prevent potential abuse.

Responsible use of AI in the security industry

The regulations for high-risk applications that can cause significant harm to people’s health, safety, fundamental rights or the environment are extremely relevant for companies in the security industry. They emphasise the importance of a thorough risk assessment and responsible use of AI systems to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Transparency plays a crucial role in the use of AI, especially in real-time monitoring and evidence preservation. The requirement to disclose that content was generated by AI helps to recognise possible falsifications and manipulations.

Strengthening rights and transparency

Strengthening the rights of citizens to submit complaints about AI systems and receive explanations of decisions creates a higher level of transparency and accountability. As CIBORIUS Group we fully support this initiative and look forward to taking further steps towards a safe and responsible use of AI in Europe.
