The CIBORIUS Group donates 10,000 euros to THW-Jugend e.V.
Last year, digitalisation received a major boost in almost all areas. The youth organisation of the Federal Agency for Technical Relief “THW-Jugend e.V.” also expanded its range of services. The latest donation from the CIBORIUS Group, totalling 10,000 euros, comes at just the right time.
As analogue meetings are currently only possible to a very limited extent, THW Jugend uses the Internet to exchange information and communicate content. The video streaming platform Twitch plays a major role here: in digital youth services, the young helpers learn, for example, how to shore up and brace correctly – in other words, how to secure structures, parts of buildings and ruins so that helpers can work safely at the scene of an accident.
“Digital media is becoming increasingly important. With our donation, we want to promote digital offerings for young people and make the THW youth strong for the future,” says company founder Andreas CIBORIUS. The Managing Director of the CIBORIUS Group met with representatives of the THW youth organisation to hand over the donation. He was accompanied by his colleague Ingo Henke, who is involved in the THW youth organisation alongside his job as a federal youth leader: “I can also carry out my outstanding voluntary work thanks to my employer, who releases me from work for many tasks. The donation makes it possible for us to offer our young helpers a safe and modern leisure activity despite corona”.
So far, the digital youth service has been broadcast live twice a month – young helpers aged between six and 18 stream exciting content on topics such as flood protection and drinking water supply in an online environment that they know and love from their free time. Thanks to the donation, the digital work of the THW Youth can be supplemented by another format, the “Expert_innentalk”. The name gives it away: This is where experts speak and go into greater depth on individual topics to prepare the young helpers for their missions in the best possible way.
